Enzo Maresca has set a Premier League record by winning his first seven matches as Manchester City manager after a 3-2 victory over Ipswich, admitting he didn't expect such a start.

Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca has surprised many by claiming he never expected to win his first seven matches in the Premier League after his side edged past Ipswich Town 3-2.

"Of course, I didn't expect to win seven out of seven," Maresca stated, while emphasising his focus on each individual game rather than looking too far ahead.

"I’m always thinking only about the next match," he added, praising the team's efforts and underscoring the importance of their progress.

City achieved their seventh consecutive league win thanks to a goal from Phil Foden and a brace from Erling Haaland.

This result means Enzo Maresca is now the first manager in Premier League history to win his first seven matches in charge of a single club.
