A possible design for Chelsea's third kit for the 2027/28 season has emerged, featuring a black and gold colour scheme—marking a first for the club without retro influences.

Footy Headlines has unveiled a preview of Chelsea's alternative kit for the 2027/28 season, featuring a unique colour scheme.

In a striking departure from tradition, Chelsea are set to don black and gold colours for the first time in the club's history. Previously, gold has only been used as an accent on home kits, but this upcoming iteration signifies a bold new direction. Notably, the design will not follow a retro theme, which is a refreshing change. Instead, sources indicate it will be based on a Nike template created for the 2027 Women’s World Cup, though the final version is yet to be confirmed.

Gold accents will also feature on Chelsea's home shirt, which is distinguished by a checkered pattern at the cuffs, giving the design a more daring edge. Details regarding the away kit remain under wraps, but early indications suggest it may also incorporate gold elements.

The unveiling of the home kit is scheduled for May 2027, while the third kit will be presented in August of the following year.
