Chelsea have ramped up efforts to secure a transfer for Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott this January. According to TEAMtalk, the London club is in a strong position for the 23-year-old Englishman and has taken new steps towards a potential deal.

Following the sale of Enzo Fernandez and the collapse of a move for Lamin Kamara from Monaco, Chelsea are looking to bolster their midfield. In recent matches, Xabi Alonso has had to deploy Malo Gusto in midfield, but the club aims to bring in a specialist player for that role this winter.

Though Kamara remains a candidate, Scott is seen as a particularly suitable option. Chelsea value his Premier League experience, ball control, passing range, and physical attributes. The Englishman is capable of playing both in a deeper role and higher up the midfield.

Sources close to the player suggest that Scott is interested in a move to Chelsea. His contract with Bournemouth runs until 2028, meaning the club is not keen to let him go cheaply mid-season.

TEAMtalk reports that a potential deal would require a significant fee and bonuses. However, Chelsea are willing to meet Bournemouth's financial demands if Scott becomes a priority target for the January window.

This season, the young midfielder has netted one goal and provided one assist, while during the 2025/26 campaign, he managed four goals and one assist.
