Jamie Carragher thinks Enzo Fernandez's transfer has greatly strengthened Manchester City, now seen as Arsenal's top competitor for the title and the only club likely to challenge them for the crown.

Jamie Carragher believes that Enzo Fernandez's transfer from Chelsea to Manchester City has significantly shifted the balance of power in the title race. The former Liverpool defender now regards Enzo Maresca's side as Arsenal's main challengers.

The Sky Sports expert stated:

This transfer definitely places Manchester City above Chelsea. I, like many others, believed Chelsea would have a strong season, and I still think that. They have no European commitments, a new manager, and a fantastic attacking trio. However, they are losing Enzo Fernandez, who I consider one of their key players.

Manchester City currently looks much stronger. I would say they are now Arsenal's main competitor.

City has a very good squad. Losing Rodri was a serious blow, and I thought recovering from that would be tough. But if you'd told me at the end of last season that they'd sign Elliot Anderson and Enzo Fernandez, I'd have said that’s world-class midfield. They paid top dollar for it, so it should be.

I believe they now have the best chances of being Arsenal's chief rival and possibly the only team capable of taking the championship title from them.
