Brian Robson has urged Manchester United to sign Lewis Hall following the acquisition of Carlos Baleba. The club legend feels Michael Carrick's team needs another quality left-back to cope with the heavy demands of the season.

Brian Robson believes Manchester United should make a move for Newcastle defender Lewis Hall. The former Red Devils captain thinks that, after strengthening the midfield, the club needs to bolster their left-back options.

This summer, United has already brought in Yuri Tielemans, Andre Santos, and Carlos Baleba, the latter arriving from Brighton for a guaranteed £65 million.

In the left-back position, Luke Shaw remains Michael Carrick's main option. The Englishman started every Premier League match last season, but the return of United to the Champions League means increased demands on the squad.

Robson stated:

If you’re continuing in cup competitions and playing in the Champions League, there’s an incredible number of matches in a season. Therefore, you need two quality players for almost every position. Luke Shaw is a brilliant player, but Hall would be a fantastic addition to our squad.

However, Robson acknowledged that a potential transfer for the Newcastle defender, valued at around £60 million, could present financial challenges.

Robson added:

You never know how financial rules stand and whether there’s enough budget left for a player of that calibre after spending about £70 million on Baleba. The club has made transfers before, so it’s a matter of prioritising.

The United legend also assessed the team's prospects in the league. Robson believes the Red Devils can compete for a top-four spot once again, but he considers the current champions as the primary contenders.

Robson noted:

Arsenal look very strong and have really bolstered their squad over the summer. I think they’re the team to catch. Then I'd say Manchester City, Liverpool, and ourselves will also be in contention. But Chelsea have started the season well too, and Rodgers is a superb signing. I'm amazed they managed to land him, as I think he’s an outstanding player.
