Arsenal has officially announced the signing of 16-year-old Vincent Joseph from Liverpool. The promising forward will join the first intake of players at the academy and is eligible to sign a professional deal when he turns 17 in January.
Joseph has spent nine years in Liverpool's system, making a notable debut for the U18 team last season, where he netted three goals in his first two matches at that level.
The forward has also been impactful for the England U16 side, with a tally of eight goals and one assist in just nine appearances.
Joseph bid farewell to Liverpool recently, stating:
After nine unforgettable years, it’s time to say goodbye. Thank you for the memories and for making my time here truly special.
He is the latest promising talent to join Arsenal’s academy this summer. In the past fortnight, Arsenal has also secured the signatures of Andriy Bartishvili and Milo Bernard, as well as luring James Scanlon and Habib Oguneye from Manchester United.
Additionally, Arsenal has pre-agreed deals for Ecuadorian twins Edwin and Holger Quintero, who will join the club after turning 18 next summer.
