Agent Srdjan Lakic revealed he planned to organise Harvey Elliott's transfer from Liverpool to Dinamo Zagreb, but the young winger insisted on a move to Valencia on the final day of the window.

Football agent Srdjan Lakic has disclosed his efforts to facilitate a transfer for Liverpool winger Harvey Elliott to Dinamo Zagreb.

However, on the final day of the transfer window, the young Englishman made the switch to Valencia on loan.

Lakic shared exclusive details of the deal during a Croatian podcast, Off the Record.

It was my goal to bring Harvey Elliott to Dinamo, especially if the club qualified for the Champions League. But in the end, he ended up at Valencia. I was involved in that deal too.

The agent also mentioned he attempted a similar transfer for Giovanni Reyna, but the American opted for a move to Strasbourg in France instead.

Elliott was adamant about joining Valencia. Moreover, Liverpool's hierarchy preferred other options where his salary would be fully covered. He spent last season on an unsuccessful loan at Aston Villa.

Unfortunately for Elliott, his debut for the Spanish side didn't go as planned. Valencia suffered a heavy defeat to Barcelona, losing 0-5.
