Shakhtar Donetsk will be holding four home matches in this season's Champions League at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea have generously offered their ground free of charge, given that the London club isn't participating in European competitions this season.
In London, Shakhtar will host AEK, Sporting, Fenerbahce, and Real Madrid. The club had also considered alternatives with Brentford and Fulham's grounds but opted for the iconic home of the Blues. Shakhtar is hopeful of attracting an average crowd of around 30,000 spectators for each match.
Since not playing at their home ground, the Donbass Arena, since 2014, Shakhtar have staged their European matches in Poland, Germany, and Slovenia since 2022.
Moving to London is seen as an opportunity for the club to strengthen ties with the Ukrainian diaspora. Plans are underway for school visits and open training sessions for expatriates. Additionally, UEFA Youth League matches will take place at Chelsea's academy ground. Fans can also expect to see ‘Invest in Ukraine’ emblazoned on Shakhtar's shirts, further highlighting their message.
