Cristal Palace manager Pierre Sag is full of praise for Adam Worthington, asserting that the young midfielder made a shrewd move by choosing to stay at Selhurst Park. Despite interest from various clubs, the 22-year-old has remained steadfast and never broached the subject of a transfer.
During the summer, Palace rejected offers for Worthington from both English clubs and those across Europe.
Pierre Sag shared his thoughts:
The club took a firm stance regarding his situation, and the player was in complete agreement. He has never discussed leaving with me, which leads me to believe that he is effectively managing his career and making very wise choices.
Every day he came to work with the right mindset, so I quickly realised that he wanted to stay and build his future with us.
He made a very smart decision in staying for another year, if not longer. He still has a decade ahead of him in his playing career.
Next up for Sag's side is a match against Fulham this Saturday at Craven Cottage.
