Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has praised Kai Havertz, labelling the German's football intelligence as one of his main attributes. The Spanish coach believes that Havertz’s versatility enables him to adapt to the specific demands of any match.
When asked about Havertz's best position, Arteta responded:
The best position is the one required by the team for that particular game to perform at our very best.
Kai is extremely intelligent — it's his standout quality. He plays five seconds ahead of the game and makes the players around him better. He scores, creates chances, puts in an incredible amount of work and is currently in fantastic emotional shape.
Arteta also spoke about Arsenal’s objective of defending their championship title. He emphasised that the team is solely focused on their next match, drawing lessons from last season's experiences:
We need to concentrate on the next game. Last season, we felt how tough it was going to be the next evening. It’s fantastic to be involved in matches like these.
We have prepared ourselves and want to step onto the pitch, compete as we always do, be better than our opponent and aim to win.
Last year we dropped points there in the last minute, finishing 2-2, and we learned a lot from that match.
