Manchester United are hoping for Mason Mount's return in their away match against Everton this weekend.
The midfielder has been sidelined since early August due to an injury sustained in a match against PSG. Initially deemed minor, the injury has kept him out for nearly a month.
Manager Michael Carrick shared some positive news:
“Mase (Mount) is back in the group, which is great. He has trained this week, so that's a big plus for us.”
Mount didn’t make the squad for the last match against Ipswich, but he is set to feature on Sunday at the Hill Dickinson stadium.
He could forge a partnership in midfield with new signing Andre Santos, which might see Youri Tielemans start on the bench.
Another summer recruit, Carlos Baleba, is still recovering from an ankle injury and is expected to return in a couple of weeks.
Forward Benjamin Sesko made a substitute appearance in the last match after his recovery from a shin injury.
Matheus Cunha will start in attack once again, with Marcus Rashford, Bryan Mbeumo, and Bruno Fernandes lining up just behind him. Winger Amad Diallo is currently out injured.
Defensively, Carrick is likely to rely on Lisandro Martinez, Diogo Dalot, Harry Maguire, and Luke Shaw. Between the sticks will be Senne Lammens.
Probable line-up for Man Utd:
Lammens; Dalot, Maguire, Martinez, Shaw; Santos, Mount; Rashford, Fernandes, Mbeumo; Cunha.
