Liverpool may reignite their pursuit of Brighton winger Yankuba Minte. The Merseysiders previously withdrew from negotiations when the player's price soared to £80 million, but now his name is back on the club's agenda.
According to journalist Foday Manneh, Liverpool's interest in the 22-year-old hasn't entirely fizzled out.
Manneh reported:
A move for Yankuba Minte to Liverpool is still possible. In the last 24 hours, the club has revisited his candidacy after facing challenges in identifying other suitable options.
Andoni Iraola has also informed the recruitment team that he wants a player like Minte, who can contribute both in attack and off the ball. He's not satisfied with other alternatives.
Previously, Liverpool made two bids for Minte, at £50 million and £60 million, both of which Brighton rejected. Sources indicate that the price may drop, especially if the south coast club manages to find a replacement for the winger.
Manneh noted:
Brighton's asking price could also decrease following the rejected offers of £50 million and £60 million, particularly if they find a replacement in the near future. In such a case, negotiations could restart with renewed vigour.
