Hull City are interested in Reims winger Keito Nakamura, with the French club demanding £21.5 million for the World Cup 2026 participant.

Hull City, making their return to the Premier League, have set their sights on 26-year-old wing forward Keito Nakamura, who currently plays for Reims and represents Japan.

As per reports from BBC journalist Nizaar Kinsella, Reims are looking for £21.5 million (€25 million) for their standout player.

Nakamura himself is eager to make the step up to the Premier League following a successful season in Ligue 2. He showcased his potential by scoring 14 goals, making him Reims' top scorer, and played a crucial role during the recently concluded World Cup 2026 in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. The winger was handed a starting position in the Japanese side after an injury to Kaoru Mitoma, impressively notching a goal, an assist, and earning a spot in Opta's group stage best XI.

This summer, Hull City have wasted no time in strengthening their squad, having already secured 11 new signings for around £76 million, including Nakamura's international teammate Hidemasa Morita.

The £21.5 million asking price from Reims may deter some suitors, but Nakamura's desire to leave Ligue 2 and join an English club could lead to a compromise from the French side.

Previously, clubs such as Everton, Bournemouth, and Fulham, along with Villarreal and Besiktas, had also shown interest in Nakamura, offering up to £15.5 million.
