Brighton boss Fabian Huerzeler has weighed in on Yankuba Minte's future now that the transfer window has closed. The 22-year-old winger was targeted by Liverpool over the summer, but Brighton turned down their approaches.
Huerzeler believes it’s crucial for Minte to focus entirely on his current team. However, he hasn't ruled out the possibility of Minte achieving his transfer dream in the future.
Huerzeler stated:
He wears the Brighton colours and badge. He’s been part of this team for two years and has achieved a lot with the lads. Now he needs to dedicate himself entirely to the work because we always say: first, we need to succeed as a club, and then individual players can shine.
If we accomplish something together, attention will come to individual players. If the whole team is successful, he’ll attract a lot of attention again, and perhaps he can achieve his dream in one of the next transfer windows.
Right now, our aim is to allow him to recover well and become a full part of the team again. He needs to show his maximum level.
Huerzeler also expressed satisfaction with Brighton's transfer campaign, particularly praising newcomers Chemy Andres and Femi Azize.
The coach highlighted Andres' strong game understanding and technical attributes as a holding midfielder, while he commended Azize for his finishing ability with both feet, decision-making in the final third, and hard work:
