Emmanuel Petit believes Leni Yoro made a mistake by joining Manchester United, insisting that the young player would have developed much better at Liverpool due to the stability and leadership within the squad.

Emmanuel Petit, a former midfielder for Arsenal, has expressed that Leni Yoro, the 20-year-old defender, would have seen a sharper improvement in his performance had he opted for Liverpool instead of Manchester United following his £52 million move from Lille.

Yoro recently received a red card during a Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid while playing in an unfamiliar right-back position. The United player has been enduring a frustrating time with constant positional changes and injuries.

In an interview with Betfred, Petit drew a comparison between Yoro's challenging start at Old Trafford and the successful integration of Jeremy Doku at Liverpool.

These are two players who find themselves in completely different situations. Jeremy Doku is currently thriving at Liverpool, full of confidence. Leni Yoro's experience, however, is quite the opposite; he’s endured injury spells and has been swapped between the right flank and centre-back.

Peti highlighted the lack of leadership and collective stability at Manchester United as a heavy burden on the young Frenchman.

When you look at the instability within the club, should Leni Yoro really be expected to raise his level when other players aren't performing at their best? United lacks leaders. If Leni Yoro were at Liverpool, I believe he would be flourishing.
