Ederson's move to Manchester United was halted due to medical concerns about his knee. The midfielder has hit back at critics, asserting his excellent health, and has signed a new contract with Atalanta until 2031, becoming captain.

Midfielder Ederson has responded bluntly after his switch to Manchester United fell through due to concerns over a medical. In an interview with Trivela, he stated that he feels in top form.

United had agreed to a deal worth around £38 million with Atalanta.

However, the transfer was scrapped following a medical examination in the wake of the World Cup, with English doctors expressing worries over the Brazilian's knee injury history and a previous meniscus operation.

Ederson maintains that he rarely sustains serious injuries and recovers quickly from minor knocks that have impacted his selection for the Brazil national team.

“I feel very good, as I always do. Physically, I can't complain. In that sense, I've always been very blessed,” said the 27-year-old.

Following this incident, the Brazil international has signed a new deal with Atalanta that will keep him at the club until 2031, taking on the role of captain for the 2026/2027 season.
