Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes enjoyed a stunning 2025/26 season, leading to his peers naming him the PFA Player of the Year. A major factor in his triumph was an incredible Premier League record of 21 assists in a single campaign. Additionally, the leader of the Red Devils netted 8 goals and contributed another assist in the FA Cup.
Following a spate of accolades, Fernandes sat down for a series of in-depth interviews where he touched on not only his sporting achievements but also life off the pitch in the foggy isle. In a conversation with Men in Blazers, the 31-year-old midfielder was asked whether he had adopted any genuine Manchester habits after six years in the country.
To his credit, the footballer admitted that he finds it hard to consider himself a true Mancunian. In the early days after relocating in 2020, he would even fly back to Portugal on weekends just to enjoy a proper cup of coffee and have breakfast at his favourite café. While he's now comfortable enough to frequent local English establishments for a cup of coffee, traditional English tea still leaves him unimpressed:
I still don't drink black tea. Sorry, but I just can't mix water with milk and then add tea leaves. That's just not for me.
Despite being one of the standout stars of the British game, the Portuguese midfielder stressed that several traditional English stereotypes still feel foreign to him.
