Liverpool's Alexander Isak has hit the ground running this season, netting three goals in the first few matches of the 2026/27 campaign. His latest performance featured a stunning double against Ipswich Town.
The Swedish striker endured a challenging previous season after suffering a fractured fibula in December during a clash with Tottenham. However, he seems to be bouncing back with confidence ahead of the upcoming fixture against Fulham.
"First and foremost, it’s great to have the season back underway — of course, you miss playing when you're sidelined. I feel good after pre-season and the start of the season, having scored a couple of goals. The key now is to keep that momentum going. Just like I did against Ipswich Town, I want to keep playing well and getting on the scoresheet. I was definitely pleased with that, but as I mentioned, it's only the beginning, and I need to carry on in the same vein. I feel in excellent shape, and the team is improving as well. We want to maintain this rhythm,"
Isak also took a moment to acknowledge the phenomenal support from fans throughout his rehabilitation.
"It hasn't been easy, especially with the injuries I faced, but there were also great moments and valuable lessons. I see it all as part of my journey towards becoming better and stronger, not looking back too often, but focusing on what lies ahead. The support from Liverpool fans means so much to me. I've known and seen how incredible the supporters are at this football club. I was thrilled to join and be part of the bond between the club, players, and fans. You can really feel it. On Wednesday, Isak also had the chance to play alongside new signing Bradley Barcola, who recently joined from Paris Saint-Germain.
