Former Liverpool ace Steven Gerrard has taken aim at Ryan Cherki after Manchester City suffered a disappointing 4-2 defeat to PSG in the Champions League.
Speaking as an expert and commentator for TNT Sports, Gerrard suggested that Cherki's performance left City effectively playing with ten men in midfield.
Cherki was substituted at half-time for Ayoub Bouadi, whose display was praised by Gerrard for its composure and ability to perform at a high level.
It was a dire start for City, finding themselves 3-0 down by the 32nd minute due to goals from Desire Doue, Ousmane Dembele, and Vitinha. After the break, Erling Haaland managed to net a brace, but Ferran Torres missed a crucial penalty late in the game.
Looking ahead, Manchester City will be back in action on October 17th, hosting Ipswich at home.
