RB Leipzig captain David Raum has confirmed that there have been no intensive negotiations regarding a new contract, despite transfer speculation linking him with Manchester United and Juventus.

In an interview with Sky Germany, the 28-year-old defender revealed that communication with the club hierarchy has only recently improved as he approaches the final months of his current deal, which runs until June 2027.

I want to lead by example with my performance and mentality, regardless of my contract situation, said Raum, who expressed his determination to continue giving his all for Leipzig.

The German international also mentioned that any decision about his future will be made in consultation with his wife, as he weighs up the options of staying at the club or pursuing opportunities elsewhere. It's worth noting that Raum joined Leipzig from Hoffenheim in 2022.
