Jan-Aage Fjortoft believes Erling Haaland will eventually move to a Spanish club. The ex-footballer stated that the Manchester City forward wants to experience different footballing cultures while ruling out a return to Germany.

Former Norwegian footballer Jan-Aage Fjortoft is convinced that Erling Haaland, currently starring for Manchester City, will inevitably seek a move to a Spanish club in the future, viewing it as an essential part of the striker's career journey.

Fjortoft, who maintains close ties with Haaland's camp, has ruled out the possibility of the 26-year-old returning to the Bundesliga, where he previously set the pitch alight with Borussia Dortmund.

I see no reason for him to head back there (to Germany). He wants to experience everything the football world has to offer, said Fjortoft, reflecting on Haaland's journey through Norway, Austria, Germany, and England.

It's worth noting that Haaland made the switch to Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2022 and has since established himself as one of Europe's most prolific strikers. While he continues to chase trophies with the Cityzens, speculation about his long-term future remains rampant.

Although Fjortoft refrained from predicting the exact timing of a potential transfer, he is steadfast in his belief that a move to Spain is on the horizon:

He is a global player, and I believe at some point he will play in Spain. Whether that's in two, three, or four years—I've no idea, but I think it's going to be part of his journey.
