Italy defender Riccardo Calafiori has been awarded Arsenal's player of the month for August 2026, showcasing an impressive beginning to the 2026/27 season.
The Italian showcased his skills across all three of the Gunners' opening matches, with Arsenal managing to keep a clean sheet in each encounter.
In the Community Shield match against Manchester City in Cardiff, Calafiori netted a stunning goal just 23 seconds into the match, helping Arsenal secure a 3-0 victory.
He later provided an assist for Kai Havertz in a convincing 3-0 win over Coventry City in the Premier League. Just ten days later, his precise passing set up Bukayo Saka for the winner against Aston Villa, sealing a 1-0 triumph.
In a fan poll, Calafiori garnered an impressive 74% of the votes, finishing well ahead of teammates Martin Ødegaard, Bukayo Saka, and Gabriel.
At the end of the month, Arsenal celebrated three wins without conceding a single goal. His performances have also earned him a nomination for the Premier League Player of the Month award.
Looking ahead, the Gunners will face Napoli in the Champions League in their next fixture.
