Chelsea captain Reece James believes there were many positives to take from the match against Arsenal, despite the Blues suffering a disappointing 2-1 defeat at the Emirates.
James praised the team's response after falling behind but acknowledged that they simply ran out of time to level the score.
“There were a lot of positives; we started the game very well, and even when we found ourselves chasing, we showed character trying to get back into it, but ultimately, we just ran out of time,” James said.
“Football at this level is about moments. One or two things can change the scoreline. It was a tough game today, and we need to analyse it and learn from it.”
When asked whether Chelsea can challenge Arsenal this season, the defender preferred to focus on his own team's progress.
“Let’s see where we are at the end of the season. We know what we need to do, and we must focus on ourselves, not letting other teams distract us,” the captain added.
