Nottingham Forest's hierarchy and manager Oliver Glasner have made a firm statement: 26-year-old attacking midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White is not for sale under any circumstances before the transfer window closes on September 1.
Last season, Gibbs-White had an impressive campaign, scoring 18 goals and providing 7 assists in 53 appearances, drawing interest from Chelsea. The Blues, who already secured Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa in July, were weighing up a move for Gibbs-White in light of potential departures, particularly with Enzo Fernandez's future uncertain.
Negotiations have intensified between Manchester City and Chelsea over Fernandez following City's defeat to Arsenal in the Community Shield (0-3). Should Fernandez leave, the London club is also exploring a move for Alex Scott from Bournemouth.
However, the Blues will struggle to lure Forest's star
Oliver Glasner:
After the sale of Elliot Anderson, it was made clear that no other first-team players would leave the club. This is a commitment from the owners, and none of the players have requested a transfer. We looked each other in the eye because we want to be successful. There's no point in selling key players if we aim to strengthen the squad.
Morgan Gibbs-White's contract with Nottingham Forest runs until 2028, and his market value is estimated at €51 million.
