Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings has admitted he misses his former teammate Ezri Konsa. After moving to Arsenal this summer, Mings understood Konsa's decision and wished him well.

Tyrone Mings and Ezri Konsa were teammates at Aston Villa for seven years before Konsa's transfer to Arsenal this summer.

Now, Mings admits he misses his former defensive partner, yet he holds no resentment towards Konsa for making the switch to the Premier League champions. In an interview with Sky Sports, the Villa defender shared his thoughts.

Yeah, absolutely, there are a few players I was quite close to.

Ezri and I had an amazing relationship over those six or seven years. Of course, I miss his presence at the club.

But he's also a fantastic player, and anyone who wants to move on and play for another club or try something new after the level of commitment he has shown to this football club, in my eyes, leaves with his head held high.

I wish him all the best. It was nice to see him so soon after he left, as they came back and played at Villa Park.

I’m sure we’ll chat again sometime.
