Mikhail Mudrik picked up an injury in training with Tottenham and, according to reports, is set to miss around 6-8 weeks.
The Ukrainian winger had just begun a new chapter in his career following his move from Chelsea. Tottenham sealed the deal for Mudrik on the last day of the transfer window, bringing him in on a season-long loan with the option to buy for £75 million, though this option isn't mandatory.
Mudrik made his debut for the North London club in a match against Nottingham Forest, coming on in the second half and playing around 16 minutes. This was his first official match in nearly 20 months following the conclusion of a doping investigation.
However, his return to full match fitness will now be delayed. The winger sustained an ankle injury during training and was spotted wearing a protective boot. It is anticipated that he will be sidelined for several weeks, with hopes of a return following the international break.
The move to Tottenham was meant to be a chance for Mudrik to reignite his career, reuniting him with Roberto De Zerbi, under whom he thrived at Shakhtar Donetsk.
For Tottenham, it now means waiting on the Ukrainian's return before gauging his potential role in the squad and the feasibility of triggering that £75 million buy option.
