Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has confirmed that he keeps in frequent touch with Sir Alex Ferguson and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the club navigates a tricky patch.
The Red Devils' boss shared insights into his relationships with both former managers during a press conference ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash against Bournemouth. Responding to questions about seeking advice from Ferguson or Solskjaer—who understand the unique pressures of managing at Manchester United—Carrick revealed that such conversations are quite commonplace for him.
He affirmed that his communication with both mentors is a regular occurrence, and the current circumstances haven’t altered this dynamic:
To be honest, I speak with both of them quite regularly. So there’s nothing unusual about that. I’m close with both of them, and we’re always chatting. So there’s nothing new this week.
Sir Alex Ferguson led the club for over two decades, while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was at the helm from 2018 to 2021. Carrick, who played under Ferguson and was part of Solskjaer’s coaching staff, now finds himself facing the challenges of the managerial role during a turbulent time for the team.
