Manchester United confirm signing of Carlos Baleba from Brighton for £70 million

Manchester United have officially confirmed the transfer of 22-year-old Cameroonian midfielder Carlos Baleba from Brighton.

The deal is worth £65 million in guaranteed fees, with an additional £5 million in bonuses, bringing the total package to £70 million. Baleba has signed a five-year contract with an option for an extra year (a '5+1' deal). The midfielder successfully completed a thorough medical examination on Saturday.

After the transfer was finalised, Baleba highlighted that the opportunity to develop his game and gain experience under the guidance of manager Michael Carrick played a crucial role in his decision to move to Old Trafford.
