Leeds United have officially opened negotiations for the transfer of 21-year-old Danish striker Conrad Harder from RB Leipzig. Manager Daniel Farke is keen to bolster his attacking options before the transfer window closes.
According to Danish publication Tipsbladet, representatives from the English club have already reached out to their German counterparts and are taking active steps to secure the deal. However, the young forward is also attracting interest from Italian side Lazio, who are looking to sign him on loan with a buy option, and Turkish club Galatasaray.
The sporting director of RB Leipzig, Marcel Schäfer, has denied the rumours surrounding the sale of the forward, who is under contract until 2030:
This is simply untrue. We see him as a very valuable player, having scored important goals last season, including in the winning match against Eintracht (3-1).
Despite the German club's stance, Leeds United are continuing their search for a striker following the departure of Joel Piroe to West Ham United. Currently, Farke has only Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha available in the pure striker role, compelling the club to actively seek to increase their squad depth ahead of the deadline.
