Liverpool have officially finalised the transfer of 18-year-old Belgian goalkeeper Lucca Bruugmans from Genk. According to BBC Sport journalist Adam Patel, the total cost of the deal, including bonuses, could reach £30 million.
The young shot-stopper has agreed to a long-term six-year contract with Liverpool. As part of the transfer agreement, Bruugmans will spend the current 2026/27 season on loan at Genk to gain valuable first-team experience, before making the move to Anfield ahead of the 2027/28 campaign.
Standing at an impressive 201 cm (6 feet 7 inches), the Belgian keeper made a name for himself last season as he nailed down a starting position at Genk, playing every minute in their opening four league matches. He’s also been a regular for Belgium’s youth teams.
As reported by BBC Sport, the financial structure of the deal includes an upfront payment along with performance-related bonuses that could bring the total up to around £30 million.
