Liverpool are poised to officially extend the contract of winger Rio Ngumoha in the coming days, as reported by Liverpool Echo.
The young prospect celebrated his 18th birthday on Saturday, a milestone that allows the Merseyside club to negotiate a proper long-term deal, replacing the three-year agreement put in place last year.
Ngumoha joined the Liverpool academy from Chelsea in 2024 and has quickly made a name for himself in the first team, notably scoring the winning goal against Newcastle. This summer, there was concrete interest from Bayern Munich, but the Reds' hierarchy firmly shut the door on any negotiations.
Even amidst a record-breaking transfer for Bradley Barcola from PSG for £123 million, Liverpool view the versatile Ngumoha as a crucial part of their future project.
