English football is facing a massive financial crisis. Alarming indicators raise serious concerns about the future of clubs in the country's top five divisions.

A report from the Independent Football Regulator (IFR) and BBC reveals that 109 out of 116 clubs (94%) are currently operating at a budget deficit. By the end of the current season, the combined debt of all clubs is expected to exceed the staggering £5 billion mark.

The statistics are dire, with 73 clubs (63%) unlikely to survive more than 90 days without direct financial injections from their owners.

Around two-thirds of teams from the second to fifth tiers are experiencing significant financial difficulties. Moreover, it's reported that 20% of Premier League clubs are now technically insolvent.
