15-Second Brief
David Raya tops Gradient Sports’ goalkeeper ranking in the Premier League. Djordje Petrovic and Senne Lammens follow in the top three, while Emiliano Martinez comes fourth and Alisson slips to 15th place.

The analytical system Gradient Sports has released an updated ranking of the top goalkeepers in the Premier League for the 2026/27 season for players who have featured in at least three matches. The ranking is based on a comparison of two fundamental indicators: Overall Grade (quality of key goalkeeping elements) and Impact Score (frequency of match-defining actions).

Leading the pack is Arsenal's David Raya. The Spanish goalkeeper played a colossal role in last year's championship triumph for the Gunners and continues to perform at the highest level. He was one of the few players without question during the heavy defeat to Brighton (0-3), and his series of crucial saves against Leeds turned the tide of a challenging match for the London side.

Heroes under fire and the paradoxes of statistics

Rounding out the top two is Bournemouth's Djordje Petrovic. The Serbian has showcased outstanding reflexes on the line, with his save from Everton's Jarrod Branthwaite being hailed as one of the standout saves of the season's opening weeks. However, goals conceded from long-range shots by Jordan Henderson and a total of five goals allowed against an xG of 1.1 have somewhat dulled the overall impression of his performance.

In third place is Manchester United's Senne Lammens, who continues to progress confidently despite a frustrating error in the match against Fulham. Some calls from fans to bench him in favour of Karl Darlow seem out of touch with his impressive overall mastery, ranking third in the league.

Fourth spot goes to Chelsea's Emiliano Martinez, who has made more saves than expected despite facing the second-highest number of shots on target in the league, showcasing his ability to clean up the defensive mistakes of Xabi Alonso's side. Fifth place sees Caoimhín Kelleher from Brentford, whose positioning on shots is the best in the league, leading Liverpool fans to question the wisdom behind his sale, especially with Alisson stuck in 15th place.

The top 10 also features Bart Verbruggen (Brighton), Dean Henderson (Crystal Palace), reliable newcomer Dzion Suzuki (Aston Villa), Gianluigi Donnarumma (Manchester City), and Bernd Leno (Fulham).
