Everton manager David Moyes reviewed the spirited draw against Bournemouth (1-1) on BBC Match of the Day, highlighting his team's resilience and discussing the club's transfer plans ahead of the deadline.
The Scottish boss conceded that their late equaliser in the 91st minute was a testament to their character and defensive determination:
“To be honest, I didn’t think we were going to score. But we didn’t give up and showed great resilience. Last season we were strong away from home, and I hope we can keep that going. We needed someone to create a pivotal moment. At the end, we made some fantastic blocks. I’m pleased with the point we picked up.”
Moyes also touched on the approaching transfer window closure and the current squad situation:
“I wish the window would stay open a little longer so we could sign a couple more players! It closes on Tuesday — we’ll see what happens. I’ve said before that we need reinforcements, and I hope we can achieve that. We have a good foundation to build on. At the same time, I don’t think we can afford to lose anyone, especially our best players. A lot depends on the hierarchy’s position, so we’ll keep an eye on developments in the coming days.”
