Former Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones has shared the reasoning behind his summer move to Inter Milan. After eight years and 228 appearances with the Reds, the 25-year-old made the switch for a fee of £25 million in August.
Jones disclosed that his decision was heavily influenced by a Champions League match at the iconic San Siro.
When we played against Inter in the Champions League, I immediately felt the connection between the players and the fans. Liverpool and I have always had that special bond with our supporters, who's like a twelfth man on the pitch.
He is confident that Inter have what it takes to compete at the highest level in Europe, suggesting that the gap in quality between Serie A and the Premier League is often overstated.
I genuinely believe that the team has everything it needs. I would never choose a club that lacks the essentials. Sure, there may be some areas that need improvement, but the disparity isn't that significant.
So far, Jones has made five appearances for his new club but is currently sidelined due to a muscle injury.
