Mikel Arteta explains why Victor Diekerez's goal drought is not a cause for panic

Striker Victor Diekerez has yet to find the back of the net for Arsenal this season, but manager Mikel Arteta continues to publicly back the forward.

Following a solid 2-0 victory over Everton on Saturday, the Gunners' boss praised the Swedish player for his commitment and expressed confidence that goals will eventually come.

He’s been unlucky in a couple of moments. He gets into prime positions and outmuscles both centre-backs, but the ball just doesn’t reach him, Arteta noted.

I think he did a lot of good again today, and we need to keep pushing. I believe he had a very useful contribution in Munich when he came on. He helped us turn the game around, and that’s what we expect from each of them.
