Bournemouth and Brentford are keeping an eye on 20-year-old Fiorentina defender Eddy Quadio, currently on loan at Monza. The Italian has made a name for himself in Serie A and received his first national team call-up. English clubs are considering a potential transfer.

Bournemouth and Brentford are turning their sights towards 20-year-old central defender Eddy Quadio from Fiorentina, who is enjoying a successful loan spell at Monza this season. The young Italian has already made waves by earning a call-up to the national team, piquing the interest of several Premier League sides.

Quadio is gradually establishing himself in senior football, having appeared in eight Serie A matches this season and becoming a regular in Ivan Juric’s side.

His impressive performances haven’t gone unnoticed by the Italy coaching staff, as he received his first taste of international recognition during the last international break. While he hasn’t made his debut yet, this call-up represents a significant milestone in his burgeoning career.

Now, both Bournemouth and Brentford are closely monitoring Quadio’s development.

Loan spell at Monza aiding Quadio’s progress

Fiorentina hold the rights to the young defender, who, despite his potential, faced uncertainty about regular playing time after the club strengthened their squad during the summer.

A move to Monza on loan has allowed him to continue his development in Serie A. Under Juric, Quadio has predominantly been deployed on the right side of a three-man central defence.

The young Italian has demonstrated composure on the ball, possesses excellent physical attributes, and effectively uses his height in aerial duels. Another standout trait is his swift tracking back after losing possession.

This mix of skills has certainly caught the eye of English clubs.

Brentford and Bournemouth know how to find talent in Italy

Both clubs have been actively scouting the Italian transfer market in recent years.

Brentford completed the signing of Michael Kayode from Fiorentina in the summer of 2025, and he quickly became a key player for the London outfit, eventually earning a spot on the Italian national team.

Bournemouth has also successfully worked with young players from Serie A. A notable example is Dean Huysen, who moved from Juventus to the English club, made an immediate impact in the Premier League, and subsequently signed with Real Madrid.

Recently, Bournemouth added Michele Di Gregorio from Juventus, who already participated in a 3-0 victory over his former club.

Existing connections could aid negotiations

Brentford is well-acquainted with Fiorentina's hierarchy thanks to their dealings for Kayode, while Bournemouth also has experience working with the Florentine side, having sent Alex Jimenez on loan there last summer.

These ties could prove advantageous if either club seeks to initiate transfer talks for Quadio.

At this stage, both clubs are merely showing interest; there are no official offers or concrete negotiations reported.

Much will depend on Quadio’s continued performances at Monza and Fiorentina's future plans for the talented defender.

However, it’s clear that Quadio is yet another young Italian talent from Serie A poised to make a move to the Premier League.
