Crystal Palace are gearing up for renewed interest from Liverpool in Ismaila Sarr this January. The Senegalese winger was on the verge of a move to Anfield last summer, but the deal fell through, and now the London club is trying to convince their top scorer to stay put.
Sarr seriously considered leaving Palace in August after a stellar 2026/27 season.
The 28-year-old winger ended the campaign as the team's leading scorer across all competitions, netting an impressive 21 goals.
Liverpool were keen to secure his signature but ultimately failed to do so.
New Crystal Palace manager Pierre Sage later acknowledged that Sarr himself was eager for a move.
In response, the French coach has sought to reintegrate Sarr into the squad fully.
However, Palace's start to the season has been challenging, and the pressure on Sage is already beginning to mount.
Despite the summer transfer not materialising, Liverpool remains interested in Sarr and could return with a fresh offer come winter.
Reports suggest the Reds value the player at around £40 million and are reluctant to increase that figure.
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace are working on a new contract for Sarr.
Negotiations have been ongoing for several weeks now.
The Eagles are prepared to offer him a pay rise and extend his current deal, which is set to run until 2029, by another two years until 2031.
This move is aimed at strengthening their position ahead of any potential January interest.
As of now, there have been no reports of an official new offer from Liverpool, but interest from the Merseysiders remains strong.
