Crystal Palace's head coach Pierre Sarr revealed that he struggles with the transfer window, primarily due to the uncertainty it brings regarding his squad. However, the Frenchman recognises the importance of this period, which inevitably poses challenges for coaches at every club.
The latest addition to the Palace squad is Axel Disasi, who joined on loan from Chelsea this week. The London club continues to shape its squad as they prepare for a season that includes participation in the Europa League.
In an interview with Sky Sports News, Sarr commented:
I dislike this period, but I understand that it is necessary and I accept it. The situation is the same for every manager at every club — regardless of contracts, money, and a multitude of other factors.
The Frenchman elaborated on the primary issue, which lies in the inability to predict what the team will look like even a few days in advance.
Sarr added:
Managers want to work with players they know for certain will be here in two or three days. It would be great to understand who will show up for training and who won’t.
He concluded:
Thus, it's vital to wait for the end of this period. It's not very comfortable to work right now because there's too much uncertainty surrounding everything.
