Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez has found himself in hot water after being caught speeding. According to The Sun, the Spanish shot-stopper was fined £1,520 for breaking traffic regulations on the M23.
The incident occurred last October in Crawley, Surrey, where the 28-year-old was clocked at 47mph in a 40mph zone.
Crawley Magistrates' Court deemed him guilty, handing down the fine and assigning three penalty points to his driving licence.
The total fine comprises a £1,000 base penalty, a mandatory surcharge of £400, and £120 in court costs.
This court ruling comes as another blow for Sanchez, whose future at Chelsea is currently under scrutiny. The appointment of Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa has further overshadowed the Spaniard's position in the team.
Sanchez has faced criticism due to a series of costly errors on the pitch. Notably, he joined Chelsea from Brighton in 2023.
