Chelsea have officially confirmed the loan transfer of 28-year-old Spanish goalkeeper Robert Sanchez to Serie A side Como. The deal will see Sanchez stay in Italy until the end of the 2026/27 season.

The goalkeeper is set to leave Stamford Bridge after three seasons with the Blues. Sanchez joined Chelsea in August 2023 from Brighton & Hove Albion and has made 112 appearances across all competitions during his time in London. Notably, he has also claimed two international trophies: the UEFA Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup.

The decision to loan out Sanchez comes as part of a significant reshuffle of Chelsea's goalkeeping department under Xabi Alonso, following the recent acquisition of Argentina’s international goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.
