Brighton have reached a verbal agreement with German club Stuttgart regarding the transfer of 21-year-old Spanish defensive midfielder Chema Andres. According to reputable insider Fabrizio Romano, this deal is being completed in the final hours of the transfer deadline.
The total transfer fee, including add-ons, will amount to around €23 million. The agreement also includes a clause that allows Stuttgart to retain a percentage of any future sale involving the player. Currently, Andres is undergoing a medical examination as the club moves to finalise all legal documentation before the window closes.
The financial benefit from this transaction will be substantial for Spanish giants Real Madrid. When they sold the academy product to Stuttgart in 2025, they retained 50% of the economic rights to the player. Consequently, the Madrid club is set to receive a direct payment of €11.5 million. Despite this financial gain, Real Madrid will lose all further control over the midfielder's future, who previously made his debut for the first team before heading off to Germany.
