Co-owner Behdad Eghbali has put a stop to any potential sale of 20-year-old midfielder Samir El Mourabet, currently representing Strasbourg.
The Moroccan talent has been deemed untouchable in the transfer market, with BlueCo, the majority shareholder of both Chelsea and Strasbourg, keen to keep the player within their footballing portfolio.
Interest from RB Leipzig had previously surfaced, but a move to the German club fell through. Likewise, interest from Juventus and Villarreal has also dissipated.
As things stand, it is expected that El Mourabet will remain at Strasbourg for the entirety of the season, where he can continue to develop and gain regular playing time.
This situation could also have long-term implications, with early speculation suggesting that a future move to Chelsea could be on the cards for the midfielder.
El Mourabet has already made 9 appearances for the Moroccan national team. He joined Strasbourg in July 2025 and is tied to the club with a contract running until 2030. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value stands at €22 million.
