Aston Villa have secured a stunning 2-1 victory against Manchester City in the eighth round of the Premier League at Villa Park.

The star of the match was undeniably Nicolas Jackson, who made an immediate impact by opening the scoring in the sixth minute. Capitalising on a blunder by Marc Guehi, the forward found the net, leaving Gianluigi Donnarumma with no chance.

City managed to restore parity early in the second half when Erling Haaland levelled the scoreline on 52 minutes. However, Villa quickly regrouped and, just eight minutes later, Jackson struck again, putting the home side back in the lead.

This second goal proved to be decisive as Villa successfully held onto their advantage until the final whistle, claiming a vital victory against one of the top contenders for the Premier League title. Despite their efforts, Manchester City were unable to find an equaliser after Jackson's second.
