Since joining Chelsea in the summer of 2023, Moisés Caicedo has evolved from a player under immense transfer pressure to a fundamental leader in midfield and a key figure in the team's setup at Stamford Bridge.
In a candid interview with the club’s official website, the Ecuadorian midfielder, who extended his contract with the Blues until 2033 earlier this year, opened up about his feelings for the club and his journey:
It’s been a magnificent journey for me — over three special years at one of the best clubs in the world. My debut season had some really tough moments, but those experiences helped me grow, continue to progress, and reach the point I’m at now. Looking back, I can say I’m grateful for everything I’ve gone through.
Now, I’m just having an incredible time giving my all for this club because they have literally given me everything. The club has supported me at every stage, and thanks to them, I’ve matured immensely. I have so much more experience now, I’ve grown into a mature player, and I just want to keep learning and give my best on the pitch.
Caicedo emphasised the familial warmth he feels in West London, highlighting the caring nature of everyone associated with the club:
I’m endlessly grateful to Chelsea and want to continue proving to the fans and everyone at the club what I’m capable of. I can confidently say: Chelsea is my home, because here I feel as if I’ve been at Stamford Bridge for an eternity. It’s a sacred place for me.
I want to always bring joy to them, knowing how much they’ve done for me. Literally everyone here — from the kit man to the head coach — has been incredibly kind to me. My goal is simple: to stay true to myself and show my teammates, the coaching staff, and the fans everything I’m capable of on the pitch.
