The Liverpool vs Brighton match at Anfield is set to proceed despite storm Bóelo and Met Office warnings. The visitors are in excellent form, but the Reds boast a strong home record against them.

The Premier League clash between Liverpool and Brighton at Anfield is still scheduled, despite the looming threat posed by storm Bóelo.

The latest update from the Met Office, released on Sunday at 5:00 AM, indicates that the storm is gradually moving away, although some areas of the UK are still experiencing strong winds and rain. Meteorologists described the situation as follows: "Strong winds continue as storm Bóelo slowly passes."

Strong winds are expected on Sunday, with rain and deluges primarily affecting Scotland and Northern Ireland. Other parts of the country may see clearer skies, though brief showers could hit western and northern regions.

A yellow weather warning due to wind is in place over Merseyside for both Saturday and Sunday; nevertheless, the match between Liverpool and Brighton, kicking off at 2:00 PM, remains confirmed. Any alterations to the event will lie within the jurisdiction of the local Safety Advisory Group, which includes representatives from both clubs, Merseyside Police, and Liverpool City Council.

Travel issues could turn out to be more challenging than the weather itself at Anfield, especially for Brighton fans making the long trek north. Supporters will surely remember the December 2024 fixture between Everton and Liverpool that was postponed less than four hours before kick-off due to storm Darra.

The Seagulls arrive in exceptional form, having won their last four Premier League matches with a staggering goal difference of 15-0. Brighton have netted 23 goals in the first seven games of the season while conceding just five, tying them with Arsenal for the most robust defence.

In head-to-heads, Brighton have prevailed in two out of their last three meetings with Liverpool. Yet, Anfield remains a daunting venue for the visitors; Liverpool have won their last four home encounters against Brighton, with just one defeat in the previous 13 competitive games at home against them (that loss came in February 2021). Furthermore, Liverpool’s Alexander Isak heads into this match with an impressive five goals in his last five league outings, while Florian Wirtz leads the Premier League in goal creation this season.
