Liverpool are showing interest in Monaco midfielder Lamina Kamara, having contacted the player just before the closure of the summer transfer window.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the Reds' hierarchy reached out to the 22-year-old even on deadline day, informing him that he would become a priority target for them in 2027 if his move to Chelsea fell through.
Initially, Liverpool had no plans to add another midfielder this summer after the departure of Curtis Jones to Inter Milan. A transfer would only materialise if Alexis Mac Allister were sold.
Despite the interest, Kamara remains eager to make the jump to the Premier League, with his departure from the French club looking possible as soon as January.
This comes after Chelsea had agreed to sign the Senegalese for a fee of £47.1 million. However, Monaco pulled out of the deal at the last minute.
The Monégasques were hoping to secure the necessary funds from the sale of Folarin Balogun to Everton, but the forward declined the move before the deadline, leaving Kamara to remain in Ligue 1.
