Liverpool is ready to offer £68m for Crystal Palace winger Ismaila Sarr after a £51m bid was rejected. The deal is necessary for the Merseysiders to greenlight Cody Gakpo's move to Manchester City.

Liverpool has intensified its pursuit of 28-year-old Senegalese winger Ismaila Sarr from Crystal Palace, according to Senegalese journalist Hadim Diakhate.

The Merseyside club is currently negotiating the sale of Dutch striker Cody Gakpo to Manchester City. However, the Reds are firmly against approving the transfer until a suitable replacement is secured for their attacking line.

Sarr has been on Liverpool's radar for some time, with the London club previously rejecting a £51 million bid from the Reds.

Now, Liverpool has made the Senegal international their top target and is prepared to raise their offer to £68 million to seal the deal before the transfer deadline.

Last season, the 28-year-old winger showcased impressive form, netting 21 goals across all competitions, including nine in the Premier League.
