Jamie Carragher doesn’t rule out Oliver Glasner’s dismissal from Nottingham Forest. The former Liverpool defender believes the main threat to the Austrian manager may be club owner Evangelos Marinakis, known for frequently changing managers.

Jamie Carragher believes Oliver Glasner could lose his role as manager of Nottingham Forest in the coming months.

The former Liverpool defender suggests that the Austrian's situation may rely less on his coaching quality and more on the position of club owner Evangelos Marinakis.

Marinakis could be Glasner's main concern

Carragher emphasised that Nottingham Forest has the potential to pull themselves out of the relegation battle. Despite a rocky start to the season, the team has shown flashes of quality and has created chances against some tough opponents.

“The only issue for Glasner is who the owner is. He changes managers very quickly, so it wouldn’t be surprising if the club decided to make a change during the international break or perhaps closer to Christmas,” Carragher stated.

Yet, the expert underscored that such an exit wouldn’t necessarily reflect poorly on Glasner's abilities.

“Not because Glasner has done horribly, but because at Nottingham Forest, it seems a manager needs to deliver outstanding results to keep their job. The owner isn’t afraid to make changes,” Carragher added.

Nottingham Forest facing challenges

The team's season has not started off well. After seven matches, Nottingham Forest had managed only five points and found themselves in the relegation zone. Additionally, they've struggled for goals at home.

A crushing 5-0 defeat to Crystal Palace heightened the frustrations among some fans, with reports of calls for Glasner’s dismissal surfacing.

However, Carragher did highlight some positives, pointing to the team’s performance against Arsenal and their display at Anfield, where, according to him, Nottingham Forest had chances to secure a better result.
