Manchester City boss Enzo Maresca is preparing for Enzo Fernandes' debut against Coventry, with Iliman Ndiaye and Ayub Buaddi likely on the bench. Jeremy Doku will miss the match due to injury.

Manchester City boss Enzo Maresca is preparing to hand starts to some of his new signings, with Enzo Fernandes and Iliman Ndiaye both in line for debuts against Coventry City.

On transfer deadline day, the Citizens splashed out £190 million on the pair of midfielders, with Fernandes arriving from Chelsea for a staggering £125 million and Ndiaye making the switch from Everton for £65 million.

The signing of Ayub Buaddi for £86 million has only ramped up competition within the squad.

Fernandes is expected to feature from the outset against Coventry, while Buaddi and Ndiaye will likely start on the bench.

Mark Guehi won't be playing in a holding role as he did against Bournemouth; instead, he'll partner Ruben Dias at the heart of defence. Abdulkodir Husanov is set to occupy the right-back position.

The futures of Ryan Cherki and Phil Foden in the starting eleven are in doubt following the new arrivals, despite the Frenchman’s impressive start to the season.

Injuries continue to plague the squad, with Jeremy Doku still sidelined due to a calf injury sustained in the match against Arsenal. Mateus Nunes' inclusion in the matchday squad remains uncertain as he works his way back to full fitness.

Expected Manchester City lineup:

Donnarumma; Husanov, Dias, Guehi, Guardiola; Anderson, Fernandes; Semenyo, Cherki, Foden; Haaland.
